Our next wedding takes us to BUMP BUMP BUMP… That’s right, Illinois.

The first week in October my mom and I took a quick weekend trip to Charleston, IL for my cousins wedding. I was really excited to finally visit the college town I have herd so much about. After the wedding I got the nostalgic tour from my uncle and took in some sights before we hit the park for the reception.
I absolutely LOVE weddings in my family… Its all hands on deck, and everyone works together. This one, really took me back to my big day almost 3 years ago. My cousin, just like me, married her college sweet heart and love was in the air. I just met the guy, but it was clear his affection for my cousin and I approve!

Something else I approve of is her hand made button bouquet. This was defiantly my favorite part!!! It’s officially, buttons are in!

Special Thanks to Specialty Portraits Photography for these two pictures. Check her out!
After the wedding I headed to the lake and was able to spend some quality time with my favorite cousin before its back to Tennessee for the next wedding.

This one we have been anticipating for a LONG TIME… and I’m excited to say Lizzy Allen is now Lizzy Russell and it was a BEAUTIFUL event, but, I’ll let her tell it. She’s a blogger like me and I know she will be eager to share all the details. Until then, here is my last minute contribution to the big day.

The isle was draped with white silk and gorgeous burnt orange flowers, to tie it all together I took some leftovers draping and put it in the eve of the shed to dress it up a bit. Flowers on the banisters to make it all coordinate… Now we’re ready for a wedding!!! She made her own silk flower bouquets and had a few DIY ideas of her own, stay posted to her blog to see more details in the coming weeks.
I blame global warming!
Hey, hey, hey…. I’m back.
It’s been a while, I know, I’m terrible. Summer was crazy, I think we can all agree. So, what’s been up with me?… Headbands!
… Or should I say, Designs by AshtonLea. I have been working hard all summer to establish a client base and really DO this crafting thing. Create my dream and live it… Right? Right! Sadly that has left little time for blogging. Shameful…but now I’m back and hope to better commit through the fall. (fingers crossed and wishing for the best)
We shall see?… but for now I’ve gotta show you these wedding pictures… Remember?… Well, I didn’t forget. How could I, it’s October which means… Make way for Weddings!
So let’s kick start this month long montage of marriage with what happened in June.
…and this is where we begin… Lost River Cave in Boling Green, Ky. The Perfect spot for a wedding. It was June on a mildly hot day but you wouldn’t have know it from where I was sitting because in the cave it was perfectly cool. Brilliant!
Upon arrival, guests were greeted with this great sign. I just love it! Strategically placed at the entrance of the cave, It really set the mood for the event to come. Want one? Your in luck, this project was outsource to Kim Hartman on Etsy, Check out her page here. Not only does she do this sign, she’s also got table markers, directive signs, and more.

What a View!!!
Down the isle…. I now pronounce…
Love the signs???… from the Etsy shop Perty.ful.things.
Yay!!!! Each seat had one of these cute little signs hand made by the bride. It was so fun, and made for such a creative exit.
Don’t forget to sign in….One of the next to be brides, Lizzy Allen, painted this tree for guest to sign in with their thumb prints.
Love it!
The reception was immediately to follow across the bridge from where the ceremony was held.
Now for the good stuff… Let the DIY cuteness begin!!! Hand painted chalk boards, burlap table runners, and button napkin ties are just the beginning… What’a Wedding!!!
The favor was my favorite part and made the experience even more memorable. Not only was everything absolutely beautiful, it smelled like heaven. She had Lavender, Thyme, Mint, and Marojrums placed on the tables with name markers. Once you crossed the bridge to the reception site you were immersed in the savory scent of summer. Once again, Brilliant!!!
The tables were set with these moss filled mason jars atop tiny stumps. Not only did she use tree stumps for table decor, she had a large one as her cake stand.
The tables were full of green and absolutely breathtaking. The rustic watering can center pieces were specially created by MacKenzie’s Floral for the mothers and grandmothers of the bride and groom.
Can’t forget the kids! Not Jamie, each honored guest had personalized molded crayons, a kids table to share, and a toss just for them.
I know one little one that will never forget this magical day.
Special thanks to Bridgett of Bridgett Ezzard Fine Art Photography for all the wonderful pictures for this post!!!
When it comes to best friends… I have the BEST. This weekend she got married and we just had to do it up right.
In my last post I promised to reveal all her DIY wedding projects…BUT, at the wedding I met the photographer, she was awesome, and said she’d share pics with me… So, for now that post is postponed.
Until then, you can check out Bridgett Ezzard Fine Art Photography to see some of the pics she’s posted. Also, check out the rest of her page. I love her look and I’m sure you will too.
But for now, here is how I brought DIY cuteness to Jamie’s big day with the perfect gift for a DIY bride.
Time to make another gift basket, my favorite.
I decided to do kitchen non-essentials… She claimed to have everything she needed for her house and only registered for a few items. None of which, were compatible with my liking, so, I went rogue.
Time to create…

Cutsy Custom Magnetic Letters… Chip board squares, foam scrapbook letters, paint, magnets, and a little time is all you need to accomplish this project.
I would love to take credit for the idea, but, I borrowed it from a fellow blogger… Here is her complete how-to and original post. Not exactly like mine…But that’s BLOGGING!

I found this metal sign at Hobbly Lobby and knew it was a perfect addition to the basket. It wasn’t until I started putting everything together that I realized I could put the magnetic letters on the back and spelled out Jamie & PJ on the front to make it even more special. Love it!

Napkin rings in her favorite Hobby Lobby fabric print. This project is quite simple all you need is some strips of fabric, plain napkin rings, and your handy-dandy glue gun.

Place mats for two occasions… Fun summer flowers and everyday wipe away lace. I was torn, so i decided to get both.

Additional fun finds… Kitchen-aid prep bowls with lids to match the collection of pots, pans, and accessories she already owns. Sheer lace apron that is probably useless in the kitchen but I saw and it was a MUST. Kitchen towels and sponges in her favorite pink/green color combo… and a shopping list note pad.

The Big Surprise… Custom Made Fabric Bouquet
A couple months ago Jamie and our next bride-to-be went to a show and fell in love with the idea of fabric flower bouquets. This is what I came up with…

I don’t know that it’s isle worthy, but It’s defiantly Jamie.
I topped the basket off with a candle for fragrance, wrap it up in tule, and added a card just in time for the wedding.
my O-so pink basket did well to blend right in with the wedding decor… and I know you are just dying to see all the details.
Until Next Time,
